Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit

Properties that will have solar-electric systems installed are eligible for Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit. There is no maximum credit for systems placed in service after 2008. The Federal Tax Credit is 30% off the total cost of the system after rebates, if they are available from your electric utility.

Austin Energy offers solar photovoltaic (PV) rebates and commercial incentives to encourage their customers to install solar energy systems. These incentives help diversify electric generation with renewable energy and help develop the clean energy industry in Austin, Texas.

The City of Sunset Valley solar rebates

The City of Sunset Valley offers rebates to local homeowners who install photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on their properties. The local rebate acts as an add-on to the PV rebates that are offered by Austin Energy to its electric customers.

CPS Energy, San Antonio's municipal utility, offers rebates to customers who install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on their homes, schools, or businesses. There are three different rebate "tiers" available depending on customer type (home, school, business).

American Electric Power Texas logo - solar rebate American Electric Power Texas Central Company (AEP-TCC) offers rebates to customers that install photovoltaic (PV) systems on homes or other buildings. Customers of all rate classes are eligible to participate in the program. The term "customer" means "the entity with financial responsibility for paying the bill for the meter behind which the distributed solar energy equipment is to be installed."

Bryan Texas Utilities logo - Solar PV Rebate Program Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU), a municipal utility in Bryan, Texas, offers rebates to buy-down the cost of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to its electricity customers. The standard residential rebate level is $2.00/watt AC and the non-residential rebate level is $2.25/watt AC per customer site each fiscal year (from October - September). Must be installed by a BTU certified installer.

Denton Municipal Utilities logo - Solar PV Rebate Program Denton Municipal Electric offers rebates to its home and small business electric customers for the installation of solar energy PV and solar water heating systems. The solar rebates are designed for residential and small commercial customers and are available for both existing buildings that are installing solar systems and new construction buildings.

El Paso Electric Company logo - Solar PV Rebate Program El Paso Electric (EPE) offers rebates to its Texas customers that install photovoltaic (PV) systems on homes or other buildings. The program is currently slated to operate on a pilot basis for two years. EPE customers of all rate classes (e.g., residential, commercial, etc.) are eligible to participate in the program. Rebates are $2.00/watt DC residential and $1.75/watt DC non- residential customers.
